Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you visit our online store, place an order or contact us. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we process

  • Order and contact data: name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, order details.
  • Payment data: processed directly by our payment providers; we only receive confirmation of payment and limited details (e.g. card type, last 4 digits).
  • Account data: if you create a customer account – login details, order history, saved addresses.
  • Communication data: content of emails and contact-form messages.
  • Newsletter and SMS data: your email address (and phone number if you sign up for text messages) and your consent, if you subscribe.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, cookies (see section 6).

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Processing and delivering your order, handling returns and warranty claims (contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Customer service and answering your enquiries (contract / legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
  • Sending our newsletter and text messages with offers and tips (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or by replying STOP to any text message).
  • Security, fraud prevention and operation of the store (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Statistics and marketing cookies (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Complying with legal obligations, e.g. accounting and retention duties (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

4. Recipients

We only share your data where necessary with:

  • Shopify (Shopify International Ltd., Ireland, and its affiliates, including in Canada and the USA) – our store platform and hosting provider.
  • Payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments / Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
  • Suppliers and fulfilment partners who prepare and ship your order – they receive your name, shipping address, phone number and the ordered items. Some of these partners are located outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, including in Asia.
  • Carriers and postal services delivering your parcel.
  • Email and IT service providers (e.g. Shopify Email, Google).
  • Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc., USA) – our email and SMS marketing platform, which receives your contact details, consent status and store activity (e.g. products viewed, cart, orders) to send newsletters and automated messages.
  • Authorities, where required by law.

5. Transfers abroad

Some recipients are located in countries that may not offer a level of data protection equivalent to Switzerland or the EU (e.g. USA, China). In such cases we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (as recognised by the Swiss FDPIC), adequacy decisions (such as the Swiss-US / EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified) or, for order fulfilment, on the necessity of the transfer for the performance of the contract with you.

6. Cookies

Our store uses cookies that are necessary for it to work (e.g. cart, checkout, security). With your consent, we also use cookies for statistics and marketing. You can give, refuse or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner and your browser settings.

7. Retention

We keep order and accounting data for 10 years as required by Swiss law (Art. 958f Code of Obligations). Other data is deleted when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, or when you withdraw your consent, unless we are legally required to keep it.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise these rights, write to contact@animoracare.store. We may ask you to prove your identity.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch); in the EU the data protection authority of your country of residence.

9. EU representative

Where required under Art. 27 GDPR, we will designate a representative in the EU and publish their details here.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (SSL/TLS).

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The version published on this page applies.
